An Event In Toronto to Help Fight Breast Cancer

Cancer surely has touched all of us. I lost my treasured and loving Mom on the 23 of June, 2007 to cancer. Such a long fight and she was a fighter, but alas, she did not survive. Too young to die before she was even 60 years old - she was only 58. My Mom developed breast cancer when she was 39 and the cancer eventually spread to other areas of her body. There were times when she had some relief, but she battled this horrible disease for most of her life after the initial onset of cancer. I think of my Mom each and everyday. Certainly I credit her with inspiring me in the kitchen at an early age, even though my cooking style is much different now since becoming a vegetarian.

For those residing in Toronto and surrounding areas, there is an event you may want to attend to help fight breast cancer. Though cancer is surely a terrible thing to contemplate, this is an important cause and such events celebrate life. The image below provides those interested in attending with all the details you will need.

I'm sorry for your loss, Lisa. This sounds like a great event. Enjoy it, and enjoy spreading vegetarian awareness! :) My father passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2007; he was 50. It's extremely tough, but it's important to keep our loved ones' memories alive through spreading either awareness of the disease or joining others who are fighting it, aiding in educating the power of lifestyle choices and diet in cancer prevention—and these definitely aren't a panacea, but they may help.

I'm sorry for your loss, but good for you for encouraging others to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. It's an important cause and this looks like a fun way to raise some money for research!
