No Croutons Required ...

though your participation is desired. Welcome to No Croutons Required, a monthly food blogging event alternately hosted by Lisa's Kitchen and Tinned Tomatoes. I've the honour of hosting the first edition, though Jacqueline is the inspiration for the project.

Each month the host will invite bloggers around the world to submit a vegetarian soup or salad recipe, sometimes with a theme, sometimes not. Soups and salads are a treasured staple in many a household and food bloggers and their readers seemingly never tire of sharing and finding new ideas.

We welcome your inspired creations:

1. Post a recipe on your blog that fits the theme for this month's challenge. Only one entry per blogger please.

2. Mention "No Croutons Required" in your post and link back to the host's post announcing the theme for the month. I will update this post each month so you know where to look. You are welcome to display the "No Croutons Required" logo if you like.

3. Email us the link to your submission:

nocroutonsrequired@googlemail.com.

Please include your name, the name of your blog, your location and the name of your dish, with any anecdotes.

4. Entries should be submitted no later than the 20th of the month. The roundup of entries will be posted a few days following the deadline for submissions. Readers are invited to vote for their favorite in the comment section or by email. The winning entry will be announced by the host the week after the roundup of entries has been posted. The winner will receive a plaque to display on their blog.

5. Good luck and thanks for participating!
Jacqueline will be hosting the December edition of No Croutons Required. We are changing things a bit this month, and like last December, are asking you to submit a festive photo. It doesn't have to include food, but do try to submit a photo that captures the festive nature of the season.

Hi!
I just discovered your new blog event and I'm sure going to participate (next time, since I'm too late now). But: Why is the title for a vegetarian event 'No croutons required'? I thought croutons are roasted or fried bread crumbs? Or is there something I'm missing?

Best wishes, Sus

Lisa and Holler, if only I had known! The celery soup would have been entered and referenced. Never mind, always a next time.

Cheers
David

Asha; I got your entry. Thank you. I replied to your email, but I guess it got caught in the spam filter.

David; It's not too late to participate. I will be excepting entries until tomorrow morning. Looking forward to your submissions in future.

Sue; Thanks for stopping by. As I said above, you have until tomorrow morning to send in your entry. I hope you will participate in future editions of "No Croutons Required." As for the choice of names for our vegetarian event, it's mainly a soup and salad challenge, at least for now, and croutons go well with soup and salad, if desired.
